The number of deaths in Hungary related to various types of influenza virus has reached 71, the country's health authority (ANTSZ) said on Wednesday.
The number of fatalities connected with flu has risen by 13 since Friday last week, the authority added in a statement.
The overwhelming majority of deaths were associated with the contraction of A-H1N1, while influenza B was implicated in only four deaths, it added.
The ANTSZ said, however, that the number of new patients reported with flu-like complaints dropped in the past week and a national epidemic no longer applies.
