    ? Due to remarkable increases in West Nile virus (WNV) cases over the past few weeks, public health officials are warning Oklahomans to take precautions to prevent mosquito bites. The Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) reminds everyone to use insect repellent when outdoors and to mosquito-proof their home.

    To date, 31 cases of WNV disease have been confirmed in Oklahomans from 10 counties. This number of cases already exceeds the total of WNV disease reports for the previous four years combined...

    OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) ? Oklahoma health officials are reporting the first West Nile Virus-related death of the year and have issued a public health warning.

    The Oklahoma State Department of Health said Tuesday that there have been 55 cases of West Nile Virus in 14 counties across the state. The department did not reveal in which county the death occurred.

    Tulsa County had the most cases with 14, followed by Oklahoma County with 12...

      The Oklahoma State Department of Health reports two more deaths due to the West Nile virus this week.

      The department said Thursday that the virus has now claimed three lives in the state. The latest two deaths happened this week in Oklahoma and Seminole counties. The previous death was in Oklahoma County.

      The department says there have been 61 confirmed cases of the virus with 39 of those being the most serious form ? called neuro-invasive...

          OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Douglas County health officials in Omaha say a man has died of West Nile virus, marking the county's first death from the mosquito-borne disease this year.

                  While the number of deaths in Oklahoma attributed to West Nile virus remained unchanged from last week, the number of cases of the virus jumped from 133 last Thursday to 144 on Tuesday.
