They are classical triple reassortant viruses.
They split into 2 strains (S1=3,S2=7), plus one S2 has PB2 from S1.
There are also signs or recombination in that PB2 at both ends
(dirty chromatogram ?)
Both strains are very similar to the original triple reassortant (1998) virus,
too close (66,160) mutations to be naturally evolved since 1998.
The estimated isolation date calculated from the number of mutations
would be ~ 2000 for S1 (6,2,5,9,1,0,11,4 promille)
and ~2002 for S2 (12,9,11,33,9,15,14,13).
One possible explanation could be that it evolved from life attenuated
vaccine that was given in ~2008 or ~2006.
We had at least one other instance where such conserved
triple reassortant swine viruses were found, that were in 3 mallards
and a pintail duck in South Dakota from 2007.
