    The King County Health Department is scrambling to find out what is making so many students sick at an Auburn elementary school.

    The Health Department confirmed Tuesday that administrators at Alpac Elementary in Pacific alerted their communicable disease department.

    While there is no confirmation on exact numbers, the number of cases of what's being described as flu-like symptoms has raised concern.

    At this point the medical team is in an investigation mode, trying to figure out what is going around.

    Although it would be very early in the flu season to see a significant outbreak, nothing has been ruled out...

    PACIFIC, Wash. ?

    An outbreak of a flu-like illness at an elementary school in Pacific, Wash., has parents worried about their children's health ? and worried the worst is yet to come.

    One hundred and sixteen of the 479 students at Alpac Elementary School were out sick Wednesday with a mystery virus. Parents of students at Alpac Elementary said once the illness hits, it's pretty serious.

    "It was almost like a strep throat thing," said mother Tiffany Conlan. "And it was hard for him to breathe. He was almost wheezing."

    And the illness doesn't go away easily...
