Influenza-like illness reported from ILINet providers (1.55%) continued to increase above what is usually seen during this time of year.
Of the 17 samples submitted to the State Laboratory of Public Health (SLPH) for viral testing six tested positive for influenza during the past week: five influenza A/H3 and one influenza A/H1 (2009).
Hospital-based Public Health Epidemiologists (PHEs) reported 16 positive influenza results for week ending 11/10/12: seven influenza A (not subtyped); six influenza A/H3; two influenza A/H1 (2009); and one influenza B.
Acute respiratory admissions increased during week 45 (ending 11/10/12).
The highest number of acute respiratory admissions was reported among patients age 25-64 years during week 45.
