Over 500 water samples found unsafe

The North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) has reported contamination of water in a recent survey conducted by the civic agency in 12 zones.
Leader of the House in the NDMC Mahender Nagpal today said that in a survey, 6,922 samples were collected for testing from all the 12 zones of the three corporations. Out of them, 507 samples were found unsafe to drink. The samples were collected by the Public Health Department of the corporation till May 11. Of the total 507 failed samples, 487 were from six zones of north Delhi where 3,387 samples were collected. Whereas in a joint testing with the Delhi Jal Board (DJB), only 128 samples, out of total 1,565 (including 127 failed samples from total 860 samples of north Delhi) failed the test.
