    Patient quarantined in an Ebola scare at Somerset hospital; hospital confirms man tests negative for deadly virus

    Staff at a Somerset hospital have confirmed that patient who was quarantined in an Ebola scare has tested negative for the deadly virus.

    The man, believed to have been from Libya, walked into the accident and emergency department at Weston General Hospital at about 9am this morning.

    When a triage nurse raised concerns about how he was presenting, and the fact that he had recently been to Africa, medical staff isolated him and carried out a full examination to see if he was infected with the deadly, contagious virus.

    The hospital's director of operations, Karen Crocker, said: ?A triage nurse, quite rightly, was extremely cautious and informed our consultant that she thought there was a possibility the patient had contracted Ebola because he had recently travelled abroad...
