Muzaffarnagar, Jan 30: Bird flu scare haunted the district after more than 200 birds were found dead in Kotwali area here.
Animal Husbandry department, however, allayed the fear by denied presence of the deadly avian flu in the district.
"Since the birds were transported from outside, suffocation during the transportation might have lead to their death," Chief Medical Officer (veterinary), Ratanvir Singh said.
He added the blood samples have been sent to High Security Animal Disease Laboratory, Bhopal for examination and post-mortem of the birds' carcasses was also being conducted.
