Abstract
Based on clinical and epidemiological investigations conducted so far, gender disparity exists in outcomes regarding Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) affected patients as men show more serious forms and higher lethality than women[SUP]1[/SUP] . At present, mechanisms underlying the observed difference are not clear enough.
