Another Ottawa Swine-Flu death

OTTAWA ? An Ottawa woman in her 80s has died from complications related to the H1N1 flu virus, bringing the total number of Eastern Ontario deaths associated with the illness to three.
The woman had an underlying medical condition and was hospitalized before she died on Wednesday, said Dr. Vera Etches, the city's associate medical officer of health.
Etches said it's unclear how the woman contracted the virus, or whether she was living in a nursing home at the time she fell ill.
So far, the city has had only one reported outbreak of the H1N1 virus in a nursing home, which has since been contained, Etches said.
To date, 356 cases of the H1N1 infection have been confirmed in Ottawa, with half of those being reported among children under 18. Of the confirmed cases, 62 have been admitted to hospital, with half of those being children and teens. While most have been discharged, three patients remain in hospital, Etches said.
Across Eastern Ontario, two other people have died, including an Ottawa teenager and a 52-year-old woman from an outlying town. Both had underlying health problems that may have contributed to their deaths.
