HCM CITY ? The Cuu Long (Mekong) Delta province of Kien Giang has approved a VND200 billion (US$10 million) project to build a trading village to raise salanganes and sell their nests, which are considered a luxury food item.

... If successfully developed, this will be the first large project for raising swallows in the province.

Many family-run businesses have set up special areas near residential areas, especially in Rach Gia City, to attract swallows and produce bird's nests. ? VN
