Three-year-old Malia Sanchez of Boyce began running a slight fever on the Fourth of July.

The cause is an unknown virus with no course of treatment, which caused an infection in Malia's heart. Early symptoms included fever, enlarged tonsils and a heart murmur -- all of which doctors initially thought were a cycle of symptoms of something not so bad....
