58-year-old woman dies in Campo Grande for influenza and MS has first case of the year, says Health
A 58-year-old woman is the first influenza victim in Mato Grosso do Sul this year, according to the epidemiological bulletin of the State Health Secretariat (SES), released on Thursday. She died in Campo Grande on March 17. According to the Municipal Health Department (Sesau), the patient was admitted to the Emergency Care Unit (UPA) Leblon on March 11 with cough, fever and difficulty breathing. The woman said the symptoms had started the day before. The blood was collected for examination and, after being medicated, showed improvement and was discharged. But 24 hours later she sought care at the Regional Health Center (CRS) of Coophavilla II and presented the same symptoms as the previous day. The patient was kept under observation in the red wing, where treatment with antibiotics was initiated and requested to be transferred to a hospital.
