The material was collected by the team of Epidemiology last September 15, after the second entry of Heavenly Pacheco Vogel of Saints in the UPA from the Center, this time followed by hospitalization and isolation of the patient.

Three days later, she returned to the health unit, this time with the aggravated and suspicion of influenza H1N1. The secretariat informed that immediately the medical team isolated the patient and began treatment with Tamiflu.

Petropolis, RJ, records two new cases of suspected H1N1

The Department of Epidemiology of Petropolis, in the Mountainous Region of the state of Rio de Janeiro, confirmed on Wednesday (24), two new cases of suspected H1N1. One of the patients, a child who had the identity and age revealed, is admitted to the Hospital Alcides Carneiro (HAC). Now a man of 46 years, which also did not have the name revealed, is in Hospital Santa Teresa (HST). In accordance with the component, the material of both was collected in this Tuesday (23) and must still be sent this Wednesday for the Central Laboratory of Public Health in Rio de Janeiro (LACEN). The result should exit from 10 to 12 days.

The Department of Health has reported that, in September, the Department of Epidemiology has received 10 notifications. Three cases (two of them with death) were confirmed after the completion of exams, three were discarded and, now, four waiting for laboratory result. Until the month of August, eight suspected cases were reported, and all results were negative in relation to H1N1. In the year 2013, 33 suspected cases were notified to the Department of Epidemiology. Of these, 30 were discarded and only three were confirmed.

One of the patients with confirmed diagnosis is admitted to the HAC, receiving all necessary care, and shall be replaced as well. The other three patients with suspected H1N1, also admitted to the health unit, are already being medicated. According to a spokesperson for the HST, the patient admitted to the unit is in the ICU of insulation and awaiting the diagnosis.
