Bulgarian Minister of Agriculture and Forestry: Bird Flu Situation in Romania Concerning

Sofia. If it?s necessary, we will take additional measures against bird flu, Bulgarian Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Nihat Kabil said before a session of the Council of Ministers, a journalist of FOCUS News Agency reported. He stated that the situation in Romania was very concerning. Out of the total of 74 outbreaks of bird flu, 47 were conformed there.
Mr Kabil said the work of the district and regional veterinary services on the border with Romania was closely observed. He added he was expecting a report of the Office of the World Health Organization to Bulgaria, which would provide objective information on the suspected cases of human-to-human transmission of the disease.
