Ontario bill to force parents to take course before exempting children from vaccines won?t pass this spring

An effort by the Ontario government to increase vaccination rates through education won?t become law before the start of the next school year.
Health Minister Eric Hoskins has tabled a bill that would, if passed, require parents who seek non-medical exemptions for vaccine requirements for enrollment in publicly funded schools to take a course first. The classes would be run by local public health units and they would seek to debunk many of the vaccination myths that have across North America depressed immunization rates.
But the bill won?t become law before MPPs depart for the summer on June 9, a spokesperson in Hoskins? office confirmed this week. That means it won?t take effect before the start of the 2016/17 school year...
