جاء قرار الإلغاء بعد المشاجرات التى حدثت بين المسلمين والمسيحيين، والتى نتج عنها قيام المسيحيين بضرب صلاح أنور (16 سنة)، مما أصابه بإصابات خطيرة، ورد عليه بعض الشباب المسلم بفصل التيار الكهربائى عن الخيام الموجودة فى منطقة الرملة، وقاموا بحرق بعض الخيام التى يقيم فيها المسيحيون الذين قاموا بالاعتداء على صلاح رداً على ضربه.
