Title: "panic or not from Encephalitis in Hurghada"
Arabic translation below
Regarding the fear that all Hurghada residents had, I would like to explain shortly and concisely the problem from my point of view. all agreed that the 3 dead cases had meningoencephalitis.
it can occur, but, 3 questions had to be asked:
was that infections viral or bacterial?
was that outbreak or sporadic cases and no fear from transmission?
is there any need to vaccinate, and which vaccine is important?
At 1st' we don't know till now, but as ministry of health stated that only H1N1, H5N1 -ve, and further tests will be done.
outbreaks occur if more than 3 cases appeared in a community and till now they were just 3 cases, soooo, no need for fear till now.
vaccinate or not, it is confusing for many people. bacterial causes of meningoencephalitis are mainly HIB, PNEUMOCOCCUS, MENINGOCOCCUS.
viral causes are many but no vaccine are available for it and rarely caused outbreaks, bur the 3 main causes of bacteria there are vaccines for it.
soooo, till now, no need to worry, waiting for the ministry of health report tomorrow or after tomorrow as they stated!!!
gossips are alot, i made that group mainly to be in touch with recent news fromtrusted sources and inform you. May ALLAH save our children and save Egypt.
