Seasonal flu vaccine will be available at the regular health department vaccine clinics as follows; Every Monday from 1:30 to 3:00 and the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month from 4-6pm. Flu mist is available starting Monday October 26.

H1N1 vaccine will be available at community clinics over the next several months. The health department?s goal is to get the H1N1 vaccine, out to the intended target groups. It is important to remember that more vaccine will be arriving and additional clinics will be offered throughout Shelby County. Initial Clinic Dates and times are as follows; Sidney Middle School - Wednesday, October 28th 4pm to 8pm Sidney Middle School- Wednesday, November 4th 4pm to 8pm More dates, times and locations to follow.

Health Department H1N1 vaccine is available to the following target groups at this time; ? Pregnant women ? Health care workers and emergency medical responders ? People caring for infants under 6 months of age ? Children and young adults from 6 months to 24 years ? People aged 25 to 64 years with underlying medical conditions (e.g. asthma, diabetes)

?Current studies indicate the risk for infection among persons age 65 or older is less than the risk for younger age groups. Therefore, as vaccine supply and demand for vaccine among younger age groups is being met, programs and providers should offer vaccination to people over the age of 65,? said Shelby County Health Commissioner Dr. Robert M.
