Four seniors die of flu in Huron

GODERICH -- The seasonal flu has hit Huron County hard, according to the Huron Health Unit.
Last week, the health unit reported three deaths related to the flu, and outbreaks in four local long-term-care facilities affecting more than 50 people.
"There is now a fourth death. The number has gone up," public health nurse RuthAnn Ogilvie said Wednesday.
All reported deaths as a result of the flu in Huron involve elderly residents, Ogilvie said. Though privacy practices at the health unit do not allow Ogilvie to go into detail about the communities in which the outbreaks have occurred, she did say, "It's throughout Huron."
