Galway surgeries cancelled as flu rate rises
Around 25 elective surgical procedures have been cancelled at Galway University Hospital due to a spike in seasonal and swine flu.
The procedures were due to take place tomorrow.
The number of people presenting themselves to GUH with flu symptoms is putting pressure on hospital staff.
People are advised to contact their GP before arriving at emergency departments with flu symptoms.
