Cases of strep on the rise

There has been an increase in the number of strep throat cases reported, according to the Department of Public Health and Social Services.
Public Health announced yesterday that for the first week of the year, the agency received four reports of strep sore throat. For the second week, there were eight reported cases, and 19 cases in week three.
But the department stated that rheumatic fever hasn't been reported regularly and therefore, the true incidence of the condition is unknown...
