Mums-to-be told to stay away from swine flu hospital

EXPECTANT mothers are being advised not to attend one of the country's busiest maternity hospitals unless they have a "particular pregnancy concern".

The Coombe Hospital in Dublin is clamping down on visitors to minimise the spread of the swine flu virus.

These restrictions were announced after health chiefs also issued a stark warning to A&E doctors to be on high alert for swine flu in emergency departments.

The HSE has also circulated an internal email to medics to caution them that the virus is now widespread and to watch for the signs in A&E.

HSE is the Irish Health Service Executive which manages Irish public healthcare.
