INDORE: First suspected case of extreme drug-resistant tuberculosis (XDR-TB) - the untreatable form of TB - has been detected in Indore this year. In the past, a confirmed case of XDR-TB was reported from state capital.
A 28-year-old lady patient, who repeatedly failed to respond to the TB drugs for almost a year, has kept the health department on toes which is seeing it as a major threat to people living in vicinity.
