Awareness campaign in Basra on bird flu

BASRA / Aswat al-Iraq: Basra's health carried out in collaboration with the veterinary hospital, on Thursday, health campaign to raise awareness of bird flu.
Said Dr. Qusay Abdul Latif Alaidani Agency (Voices of Iraq), "Department of Health implemented the Basra health campaign to raise awareness in the market from bird flu, which began in the markets of the Shatt al-Arab to be the inclusion of the other areas later."
He added that the campaign "carried out in cooperation with the veterinary hospital and the municipal council in the judiciary, including the distribution of health messages and get off the ground for the markets and meeting the citizens of the vendors and shop owners and dealers with the flu." He pointed out that the posters have been distributed pamphlets to educate citizens on how to deal with the birds with the need to inform the stakeholders in the event of discovery of any Hlakat of the birds, as was the use of loudspeakers ambulances for the broadcasting of health messages to raise awareness of the disease.
Veterinary and called in Basra (14/1/2009) the provision of materials and the examination of bird flu pandemic, according to the veterinary hospital, said Dr. Mushtaq Abdul-Mahdi told (Voices of Iraq) said that the Veterinary Basra as "a need for many of the supplies necessary to sustain its work more effectively," He pointed out that the requirements of these special materials to examine bird flu and the mechanisms that will enable veterinary teams to visit villages and rural areas.
Detected the beginning of March last in March 2008 the focus of bird flu in the region of the Fadaghiyah Faw (100 km south of Basra), where many died because of the chicken without any casualties, which has prompted the concerned authorities in the province to take the necessary precautions.
