Girl dies after eating meat from dead cow

Calamity hit a family in Hamisi district on Saturday after a two-yearold girl died and her two brothers were hospitalised with severe body swellings and sores after they reportedly fed on meat of a dead cow. They are reported to have feasted on the delicacy from a cow suspected to have died from anthrax last Friday before developing the symptoms, according to neighbours.
Vihiga Public Health Officer Patrick Lutta confirmed the incident but declined to speculate the cause of death saying his office was investigating incident that eight cows had died in Mukhulu location had died of a mysterious disease.
