It was a woman resident in Spain , born in Morocco , who traveled to Saudi Arabia and on his return to Madrid on November 1 , was admitted with pneumonia. In the suspected infection and the first laboratory results, all measures were taken necessary control action according to the procedures agreed between the Ministry and the CCAA.
The investigation of close contacts of this case allowed the identification of another woman belonging to the same group tour , with whom he shared room in Saudi Arabia, with similar symptoms and which also gave a positive test for laboratory for the new coronavirus.
Both patients recovered and were discharged on 13 November.
The Community of Madrid, together with the Government of Andalusia, the Carlos III Institute of Health and the
Ministry , conducted the investigation of all close contacts of both cases , during the
and on their return trip to Spain and no other case was identified.
In compliance with the International Health Regulations , the Ministry of Health Services Social Affairs and Equal both cases reported to the World Health Organization and the network European Rapid Alert (EWRS ) , with which it has been monitoring the situation.
On November 21, 2013 , ended the period of follow-up contacts coming of cases and lack of laboratory results confirm that allow both probable cases of novel coronavirus identified , is considered closed this health alert public .
