Raleigh, NC -- A measles outbreak was reported Thursday by the NC Department of Health and Human Services in Stokes and Orange Counties.
So far, seven cases have been documented between the two counties. The state department said in a public health advisory that it is investigating the outbreak with local health departments...

The N.C. Department of Health and Human Services said Thursday that seven cases of measles have been reported in Stokes and Orange counties.
The department did not say how many there were in each county and where the outbreak occurred...

CHAPEL HILL - Thursday the state Department of Health reported an outbreak of measles in North Carolina?one case here in Orange County.
?We do have an understanding of where this originated; it was not in Orange County. The case we do have here has been moving back and forth between counties and was exposed else where,? said Stacy Shelp, public information office for the Orange County Health Department...

...To date, 8 cases have been confirmed in North Carolina, 7 in Stokes County and 1 in Orange County. There are known exposures in many other counties including several in western North Carolina..

No new cases reported since last week

Last week health officials announced that several measles cases had been reported in Stokes County, but Stokes Health Department Director Scott Lenhart said Tuesday that the outbreak seemed to be under control.
As of Tuesday morning, no new cases had been reported since last week. There were eight confirmed cases in the state ? seven in Stokes County and one in Orange County.
The individuals with confirmed cases of the measles in Stokes were getting better, Lenhart said...
