Toronto Public Health has alerted residents of a downtown building that houses several companies including Postmedia Inc. that three people who work there have become ill with tuberculosis over the last few years.
Associate Medical Officer of Health Dr. Elizabeth Rea said the three people all work on separate floors for different companies, and the only common trait is they are tobacco users who frequently gather outside the building for a smoke.
Smokers have double the risk of contracting TB if they come into contact with it, Rea said...
