Two cases confirmed of influenza outbreaks

The Brant County Health Unit confirmed Tuesday that there are two confirmed outbreaks of influenza in the area.

One of the outbreaks is in Brierwood Gardens long-term care facility on Park Road North.

Heath unit spokesperson Elizabeth Harrington said in an email that the outbreak was declared on April 21. The second location was not provided...

Flu possibly related to at least one death

The version of influenza still hanging on in Brantford is Influenza B - a late-season strain that continues to cause problems.

At least one senior who had symptoms of Influenza B has died in hospital, according to a Brierwood Gardens spokesperson...
