An indigenous ethnic Xikrin baby, one year and three months, died on Sunday, a victim of the H1N1 virus. The information was confirmed by the State Department of Public Health of Par? (Sespa) on Tuesday. It said the child lived in the village Djudj?k? and was not vaccinated against the disease, known throughout Brazil as swine flu.

The Sespa reported that the disease was confirmed by the Instituto Evandro Chagas (IEC), after examination of the biological material of the child, when it was noted as positive the existence of the H1N1 virus.
