After three years of work, the Research Center for Biologicals, National Institute of Health (NCI) , developed the first regional diagnostic kit l for dengue in South America called Tariki Dengue.
Still undergoing validation, this tool will cut more than 85% investment by diagnosis for the disease.
Thus the cost of Dengue kit could be found in S /. 3.00, well below what it usually costs the same in the U.S. or Australia.
With this initiative, "we are showing that we are not only exporting raw materials, but that scientific research can be level or above other countries," stressed the head of the INS, C?sar Cabezas.
Likewise, Cabezas explained that this product would be the first regional valid.
