Bucharest - New case of bird flu was registered in the country of Gorj (southern Romania) and thus the number of confirmed bird flu foci in the country reached 89, the spokesman of Romania?s Agriculture Ministry Adrian Tibu said at a press conference this morning cited by Rompress.

Meanwhile the number of suspected outbreaks of the disease continues to be 23.

Tibu pointed out that up to now the government has allocated almost EUR 500,000 in compensations to the poultry owners.
