Santa Catarina registers first case of swine flu of the year in the State

The Saint's State Catarina registered in Wednesday (21) the first case of the influenza A (H1N1) - pig flu - in 2010. According to the State General office of Health, the victim is a 34-year-old man who grasps the local authority of Papanduva, in the north of the State. He was treated and it passes well.



Another three persons who are with the symptoms of the disease wait for the result of the examinations.



From the confirmation of the first case of pig flu in Brazil, in April of 2009, more than 58 thousand persons contracted the disease. 1.632 died.



Only in the first three months of this year, 45 deaths were registered. According to the WHO (World-wide Organization of Health), the disease already reached 213 countries and provoked 17,4 thousand deaths. The WHO affirms that it is early to announce the end of the pandemia and it belong reckless reduces level of alert, which must continue at least for the near 6 months.



The virus Influenza H1N1 is already responsible for 99,4 % of the cases of flu in Americas. In some countries, like Canada and Cuba, the rate reaches 100 %.
