A 17 years with previous pathologies has become the sixth fatality caused by influenza A in Catalonia, the first of a minor, said today the Regional Ministry of Health of the Government in a statement that gave no further details express wish of the family.

At the same time, remain entered in any intensive care unit (ICU) five people, while the 49 serious cases reported so far, 35 have been discharged.

The incidence rate remains below the epidemic level, with 87 cases per 100,000 population, and thus reduced slightly from last week.

Another woman died in Cantabria

A woman of 72 years affected by various pathologies has died at the Hospital Valdecilla de Santander for complications from influenza H1N1, known as influenza A, which makes it the first fatality recorded in Cantabria because of this disease.

As reported this afternoon the regional government said in a statement, the deceased was admitted four days ago in the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital affected by respiratory failure and had other pathologies.

His death, which the Ministry of Health was informed by the Department of Public Health, was caused by complications from influenza A.

Una joven de 17 a?os con patolog?as previas se ha convertido en la sexta v?ctima mortal que causa la gripe A en Catalu?a, siendo la primera menor de edad, seg?n inform? hoy la Conselleria de Salud de la Generalitat en un comunicado, que no ofreci? m?s datos por deseo expreso de la familia.

Al mismo tiempo, permanecen ingresadas en alguna Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos (UCI) cinco personas, si bien de los 49 casos graves registrados hasta el momento, 35 han sido dados de alta.

La tasa de incidencia permanece por debajo del nivel epid?mico, con 87 casos por cada 100.000 habitantes, y se reduce de este modo levemente respecto a la semana pasada.

Otra mujer muere en Cantabria

Una mujer de 72 a?os afectada por diversas patolog?as ha fallecido en el Hospital Valdecilla de Santander por complicaciones derivadas de la gripe H1N1, la llamada gripe A, lo que la convierte en la primera v?ctima mortal registrada en Cantabria a causa de esta enfermedad.

Seg?n ha informado esta tarde el Gobierno regional en un comunicado, la fallecida ingres? hace cuatro d?as en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos del centro hospitalario afectada por un cuadro de insuficiencia respiratoria y presentaba otras patolog?as.

Su muerte, de la que la Consejer?a de Sanidad tuvo conocimiento a trav?s de la Direcci?n General de Salud P?blica, se produjo por complicaciones derivadas de la gripe A.
