Shelby County Health Department Warns Of Measles In Child Traveling To Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (localmemphis.com) - A case of measles in the bluff city has the Shelby County Health Department on alert. A passenger at Memphis International Airport was diagnosed with the disease!
We're told the child and two others flew into Memphis International airport on United flight 3490. They traveled from Brussels, Belgium, to Newark, New Jersey, before arriving in Memphis.
The child had a high fever and rash and was taken to Le Bonheur and diagnosed with measles, one of the most contagious viruses a person can get.
?We know that you can be contagious for about four days before the onset of the rash, and about four days afterwards,? says Dr. Helen Morrow with the Shelby County Health Department.
The department has been working closely with Global Migration Quarantine and the CDC since Monday night, when the child arrived at Memphis International airport with a case of the measles...
