Tuberculosis case found at Toronto elementary school

A case of tuberculosis was found at St. Maria Goretti Catholic elementary school in Scarborough, Toronto Public Health officials confirmed on Monday.
Teachers at the Toronto Catholic District School Board were informed on Friday that a student at the school, located near Kennedy Road and Eglinton Avenue East, tested positive for the bacterial illness.
Parents will be informed of the possibility that their child may need to be tested when students bring home a letter on Monday.
"The student was in school while they were infectious which is why we are doing the contact follow up," said Corrado Maltese, a spokesperson for the Toronto Catholic District School Board...
