Two more cases of the H1N1 virus have turned up in the Edmonton region.

Senior Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Gerry Predy says the two cases were contracted by people travelling abroad to areas where there is more disease activity. Dr. Predy says both patients were treated and are on the way to recovery. He says the re-emergence of the disease is not a surprise for the health authorities.

"We were expecting to see more cases, although we've only seen the two. Monitoring and surveillance continue for more cases of the disease." says Predy.

Predy adds that they aren't expecting a third wave of H1N1 because we are moving out of the influenza season, and a large portion of the population has been immunized for H1N1.
