A 7-year-old Madisonville student is receiving treatment for meningitis at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston.

While the school district has confirmed a case of meningitis, results have not returned yet as to the specific kind...

A news broadcast earlier this week had parents and citizens in a slight panic when it was reported that a child at the Madisonville Elementary School had been diagnosed with meningitis...

...The student, a second grader, had been very sick, with different viruses, that gave some similar signs of the disease, but Smith said, "It was not meningitis."

He did say, due to the other issues that the child was facing, she did have surgery, and was reported to be recovering...
