Measles infections in Hoima reach 200

"Measles infections in Hoima continue to rise as the epidemic spreads to other sub-counties. The district health inspector, Mr Fredrick Byenume, on Friday put the number of the affected at 202, with the death toll rising to six in the last one week.
Mr Byenume said the four patients who are admitted to Kaseeta Health Centre are aged between 18 and 30 years, but said the disease had mainly affected children under five years.
The disease outbreak in Kabwooya Sub-county, which was confirmed in January, has also caused fear among residents.
Health officials went to Kyabigambire Sub-county, which is about 12 kilometres from Hoima Town, and extracted blood samples from seven patients who had signs and symptoms similar to those of the disease. Mr Byenume said the samples had been taken to Entebbe Virus Research Centre for testing...".
