According to health experts, a 'substantial amount' of suspected measles and mumps cases do not turn out to be the implicated infection

A total of 24 suspected cases of measles and mumps were reported in North Wales during the September period ? nearly double the amount for the previous month.

The figures, provided by Public Health England (PHE) ? formerly the Health Protection Agency, relate to the number of infections reported between August 26 and September 29 this year.

In all, there were six suspected cases of measles with three in Denbighshire, two in Gwynedd and one in Conwy...

Pontardawe?s Cwmtawe Secondary School now has seven suspected cases with two confirmed

Four more measles cases have been linked to a Neath Port Talbot school.

Health officials said there were now seven cases connected with Pontardawe?s Cwmtawe Secondary School. Two have been confirmed.

Two cases were also identified last week in pupils at Ysgol Y Cribarth, in Abercrave, Powys. They are said to be 'connected' to one of the confirmed Cwmtawe cases...

Cwmtawe School measles cases rises to 13

The number of measles cases linked to a Neath school has risen to 13 while a case has also been reported at a Swansea nursery.

Public Health Wales said there is no link between the cases at Cwmtawe school and the nursery...

Gwynedd has highest rate of measles cases in North Wales

And county has the lowest take-up rate in North Wales for two year-olds getting the MMR jab

Toddlers and teenagers in Gwynedd have the lowest take-up for the MMR vaccine according to recent figures released by Public Health Wales.

And statistics show that Gwynedd has the highest rate of measles, accounting for more than half of the cases in the region last year.

There were also 135 cases of mumps reported in the first six months of 2013 across North Wales, with16 cases in Gwynedd.

Last year there were 160 cases in total in North Wales with 21 in Gwynedd.

Medics have also diagnosed five cases of rubella from January to July this year, with two in Flintshire, and one each in Wrexham, Anglesey and Gwynedd...

Public Health Wales said there have now been 36 cases of measles since the start of October and has urged parents to make sure their children have had two doses of the MMR vaccine

The number of measles cases, in an outbreak has centred on the Neath and Swansea areas, now stands at 36.

The outbreak has affected four schools in the Abertawe Bro Morgannwg Health Board area with 36 reported cases since the start of October...

A report published today into this year's measles outbreak says there are still 30,000 people aged between 10 and 18 who have not received the MMR vaccine

A policy of ?aggressive control? of measles into or transmitted within Wales is needed if the disease is to be eliminated from the country, leading public health officials have warned.

In a report published today into the Swansea-based measles outbreak, Public Health Wales said that there were still 30,000 people aged between 10 and 18 who have not received the MMR vaccine and warned that this could lead to further outbreaks.

Between November 2012 and July 2013, a total of 1,202 cases of measles were reported in the outbreak, which became the largest seen in Wales since the introduction of the MMR.

Of these, 88 people were admitted to hospital and 25-year-old Gareth Colfer was found dead at his Port Tennant flat after contracting the disease...

Measles outbreak: 39 reported cases in Neath Swansea outbreak

Parents in an area hit by a measles outbreak have been urged not to send children to school if they show symptoms of the disease.

It comes as three more cases were reported in the Neath and Swansea area bringing the total number to 39...

MMR jabs urged after case reported at Gwent high school
