President Joseph Biden’s team is increasingly worried the coronavirus pandemic is spiraling out of control -- imperiling his promise to contain the outbreak -- as cases and deaths mount, vaccinations lag and a more transmissible strain of the virus emerges in the U.S., according to people familiar with the matter.
