The European Monitoring Centre on Drugs and Drug Addiction reported that staff in conjunction with Yale University and Baylor College is developing a vaccine to neutralize the effects of cocaine.
The antibody drug increases to cover and then turn off the effects of invaders with products that no matter the amount consumed, the patient will feel no effect.
The researchers said patients should undergo a treatment that will go from six to eight weeks to achieve a temporary immunity to the effects of cocaine.
The newly created vaccine was tested in 115 people, of which only 38 percent reached a sufficient amount of antibodies to neutralize the effects of the drug.
The developers estimate that with this medicine may help four out of 10 addicts.
Efforts to neutralize the effects of cocaine have been taking place since 1990, is still missing a definitive method for all patients.
