A YOUNG mum who died from swine flu has saved three lives by donating her organs.
As a teenager, Marianne Johnston, who passed away aged 20 in November last year, decided to help others after her death.
Her family have now received a letter telling them of the huge benefits her selflessness has brought others.
The people she has helped include:
A 57-year-old liver cancer sufferer who was given a new liver.
The transplant was a success, allowing her to be discharged from intensive care and giving her hope of a normal life.
A 35-year-old man who received a kidney transplant after waiting for a suitable donor for five years.
A 65-year-old man who has a new kidney after waiting nearly three years and attending dialysis during that time.
Amazingly, Marianne's heart valves were frozen and will be used in transplants later.
Her eyes will also be used to help bring sight back to people who have gone blind.
