Health Minister Kevin Falcon says he's ordered extra ventilators to help patients during an expected outbreak of the H1N1 flu.

A leaked report suggests B.C. doesn't have enough of the machines, but Falcon says the province will soon have 25 extra ventilators, bringing the total to more than one thousand.

He says B.C. also has access to more ventilators from the federal government if need be.

Meanwhile, NDP Health critic Adrian Dix says the report on flu readiness shows the Liberal government chose the wrong time to cut acute care health services.
