Ain: 50 éleveurs autorisés à sortir leurs volailles

AP | 20.04.06 | 14:11

AP

Ain 50 stockbreeders authorized to leave their poultries go outside
BOURG-EN-BRESSE (AP) -- the veterinary services gave the authorization to 50 professional stockbreeders of Ain having observed strict sanitary arrangements to leave as of Thursday their poultries confined since October, to Thursday the prefect of Ain Michel Fuzeau at the time of a point announced presses.
"the Bresse fills the prerequisite of unscathed wild fauna. As of today, 50 stockbreeders of this sector are ready to leave their poultries. They met all the conditions of biosecurity equivalent to containment ", the prefect of Ain specified.
Currently, 300 professional poultry stockbreeders in the open air - Bresse and labels located except zone of protection are concerned with this possibility of exit if they observe the conditions such as the limitation of the courses, the absence of water point, etc
"It is a question of organizing the exit of crisis in good order and not in a general carelessness because virus H5N1 is always present in Dombes", Michel Fuzeau specified.
Two swans were indeed found died a few days ago with the accesses of a pond located between Saint-Paul-in-Varax and of Marlieux. These swans are being analysed at the laboratory of Ploufragan (Coast-in Armor). If results, waited for Thursday evening or Friday morning, prove to be positive, the zone of protection (reduced Wednesday with four communes of Dombes) could again widen.
The director of the veterinary services of Ain, Catherine Dupuy, in addition stressed that the stockbreeders who would leave their poultries without authorization "would be inevitably sanctioned". According to the decree of October 24, 2005, the containment of the poultries is required until May 31.
During the meeting of piloting of the representatives of the avicolous die, organized Thursday morning, the cutters of Ain specified that their sales turnover had dropped by 20% compared to the same period last year. AP
