Six people lost their lives in the last 24 hours due to complications caused by the influenza A (H1N1), increasing the number of total fatalities in Greece to 33. In a statement, the Ministry of Health emphasized the need for hygiene, vaccination and antiviral medication.
Due to the strikes of pharmacists or possible shortages of antiviral medication, the Health Ministry announced that patients can receive life saving drugs at the pharmacies of state hospitals and daily health centers free of charge, with a simple prescription.
The Ministry urges patients to seek medication as soon as possible in order to reduce the virus activity.
