The Ministry of Health announced this Wednesday (5) the weekly epidemiological bulletin of the new flu, counting 2,959 cases confirmed cases of influenza A (H1N1) between April 25 and August 1. This represents 17% of people with symptoms of any type of flu recorded by folder. Figures from the ministry consolidate data sent by state and municipal secretariats of health. Still according to the note of the ministry, 71.5% of people infected by H1N1 virus have mild symptoms.
The rest - 28.5% or 844 people - had fever, cough and difficulty breathing, even moderate. These symptoms constitute severe acute respiratory syndrome (SRAG). Of the 844 patients, 55.6% are women.
The report shows, so that both in absolute numbers in proportion, the new influenza caused more serious cases. 844 people are seriously affected by the new avian (28.5% of total).
Among those infected with seasonal influenza (the common flu), the proportion of cases that had SRAG was 22.3%. This represents 318 people, or 40% of all serious cases of swine flu.
The number of deaths the ministry is 96 by July 1. The federal government still considers 38 deaths in Sao Paulo, where the government has confirmed 50 of the state, for example, and 15 in Parana, where there have been 25 confirmed deaths from disease. The secretaries of state endorsements yesterday amounted to 129, not including ads in municipalities, in this Wednesday.
Of the 96 deaths recorded, 14 were pregnant. The memo reiterates that pregnancy and cardiac and neurological diseases are the main "risk factors for death."
The ministry also announced that in serious cases of people infected by new virus with at least one risk factor, the fatality rate was 23.5%. Among patients without any risk factor for mortality was 8.9%. The conclusion: "who has at least one risk factor and illness by the new virus has 2.63 times more risk of dying compared with the group of people, also with serious illness by the new virus, but no risk factor" .
