Third case of AH1N1 is confirmed in Risaralda with a fatal victim. It is a question of a 7-year-old girl of Pereira who died in a clinic of the city. The Laboratory of Virology of the National Institute of Health, INS, confirmed today the death of a 7-year-old girl for the virus AH1N1. The minor was residing in the urban zone of the municipality of Pereira. In accordance with the report the girl presented the first symptoms last January 27 and she was hospitalized in a welfare center of the city in the one that died the weekend.
This way 3 are already the cases of virus AH1N1 confirmed during the present year in the Department. The first one registered in Pereira with the death of a 49-year-old man; the second one was not fatal case in a 23-year-old resident person in Dosquebradas.
The Secretary of Health remembered that from November, 2010 there has being applied the trivalent vaccine that it protects against the seasonal influence, influenza A H1N1 and influenza H3N2 bearing in mind the groups of population with major risk they are children between 6 and 24 months and population older than 60 years.
