A 50-YEAR-OLD woman has become the 26th person to die in South Australia due to swine flu.
SA Health today announced the woman died at the Flinders Medical Centre last week and was suffering from underlying health problems.
The total number of swine flu cases recorded in the state so far this year has risen to 8944.
Four patients suffering with the virus have been hospitalised this week.
The news comes as the first doses of swine flu vaccine are administered in South Australia.
From tomorrow, swine flu vaccine is being offered to aged 10 and older.
Pregnant women and people with chronic illnesses are advised to make an appointment immediately to get a jab.
Health Minister John Hill says there are enough vaccinations for everyone who wants one.
SA will get 1.4 million doses.
